I am paying 50g per summon of the Valentine's (Love is in the Air) Seasonal Boss in Shadowfang Keep.

If the Rocket mount (Big Love Rocket)drops I will pay an additional 5,000g to the person who summoned the drop.

I have been obsessed about getting a rocket mount for almost a year now, and am serious about this offer. Alts are welcome for summoning purposes.

This fight does have an interesting mechanic. You can read up on it at Wowhead.com or Wow.com
http://www.wowhead.com/?guide=love-is-in-the-air
http://www.wow.com/2010/02/07/tough-lov ... #continued

The loot will be on Master Looter for the group. All other loot dropped will be /random.

I am looking to do summons every weekday from ~6pm until 7:30pm. Weekends may have more oportunities for summoning depending on when we are on. If you are interested that day, go ahead and send me a tell.

Thanks!
~Zugarye

Just wanted to post some more information now that the event has been going on for a couple of days.

Gnosta and I have done several of the summons and have a pretty good routine down. We are able to pretty much each tank a boss, with additional party members mainly focusing on DPS.

I want to thank everyone who has helped me in my mount quest so far! With your help we have been able to perfect the strategy for this boss and make the summoning experience quick and easy for all those involved.

We have been successful in using a summoning portal to summon in a party member, kill bosses, and use the portal again to swap out the next batch of characters. That is approximately a 5 minute turn around time for summon - boss kill - summon. Not bad!

Characters just need to be lvl 75 to summon this boss, and since Gnosta and I can manage the encounter mechanic the character does not need to be skilled... or equiped... they don't even need to stay alive. In some cases it is easier if they hide somewhere or just die.... I'm looking at you Yarmon!

Some people have expressed their desire for some of the other dropped items (Rose Helm, Gas Mask, Toxic Wasteling) I will do my best to make the group composition favorable to these requests, however, my main focus will be about making the character rotation as fast as possible. I am very appreciative of those people able to offer up their summons to my rocket mount goal and I want to be efficient and respectful of their time.

Thank you all again for your help so far! I am feeling really positive about this mission and I will see you all later today... and tomorrow... and the next day... :)

Captain's Log Day 5:

The obsession that has griped me for the last four days grows stronger. The desire to have my own [item]Big Love Rocket[/item] has taken over my thoughts and actions. I find this vehicle so appealing and would like to have it replace my personal shuttle craft. That grey box is a thing of the past. The bright pink outer shell and zebra print seat scream out my name!

I find it perplexing that I must continually harrass this Apothacary Hummel to give up his rocket. He seems to not want to fight me but goes along with it in the end. If he only gave up the goods I would not have to continually fight him!!

My crew has been fairing slightly better than me.

Gnumber Ogne has been a constant in my battles with the Apothacary. He has become a true companion and I hope he will always stay my Gnumber Ogne.

Geordi La Snoogie has found himself a new [item]Vile Fumigator's Mask[/item], this one seems more cumbersome than his old visor, but he does seem quite happy about it.

Deanna Trundle and Wesley Lightscar have both found a new companions with the [item]Toxic Wasteling[/item]. Although they makes a mess in the corridors of my ship, I think we should keep them around as it does keep the space bugs undercontrol.

Ralnorf also seeks one of these odd space pets, I will not stand in his way... most who stand in a hunter's way get the sharp end of a pokey stick!! He has already aquired a [item]heartbreaker[/item] and insists on using it frequently. I am not sure if this is a sign of agression, or part of his hunter ways...

Poor Beverly Roja, all she wants is a rose for her hair... and alas we have not yet aquired one for her... I have promised we would keep trying for this [item]Forever-Lovely Rose[/item]. At least until Hummel releases his grip on that rocket!!!

I hope my crew can stay strong and by my side throughout this long ordeal. I have been told that our window to negotiate with this Apothecary is small. We must be vigilant and continue to demand this rocket before our time comes to an end!!!

I shall log again when more progress has been made.

~Captain Jean-Luc Zugarye

P.S. I must remind young Wesley to stop playing with Data. It appears that he has merged some holodeck technology into Data's android frame. Data keeps appearing as differing creatures, many named similarly the same, some Mons... some Dars... sometimes he appears as more than one. This is disturbing, but cannot be addressed until THE ROCKET IS MINE!!!!!

Captain's Log Day 6:

We have completed our 5th day of negotiations with Apothecary Hummel all to no avail. StarFleet has stated that this type of negotiation tactic is highly successful. However, I am starting to think that after 200+ FaceRolls with no rocket, this Apothecary is highly trained in anti-negotiation tricks.

The Apothecary employed a new tactic in our encounters yesturday that was quite successful in rebuking our discussions. If a party member is not in line of sight (up the stairs, on the fountain, on a ledge) he will take the supoena we give him and eat it... and then dissapear. He also did this if a party member entered the zone while our interogations were in progress. I found it quite odd, and have been working with my crew to reduce this nonsensical behavior.

We did have some success last night. Dr. Beverly Roja managed to find her [item]forever-lovely rose[/item] and has left my crew to join the Mailbox dance troupe located on the Deep Space Nine station. Apparently they have shows nightly right outside Quark's bar.

Lt. Ralnorf has not found a new companion [item]toxic wasteling[/item] yet. However, others of my crew have found [item]the heartbreaker[/item] and have been exchanging broken hearts with the Hunter.

To help supliment my team, a new batch of starfleet cadets have been rotating through my away team set up. I have always encouraged the young students to be involved in my adventures. However, I am starting to see a pattern when they show up wearing a Red Shirt, they tend to die quite quickly. I shall start calling them the Red Shirt Crew... and they have included such memorable characters as Lt. Junior Grade Fiddy, Lt. Junior Grade Narv, Ensign Lorvanos, Ensign Schyfox, Crewman Gori, Petty Officer Vivienne, Crewman Tazzari, and others that have escaped my weary mind this morning.

After the session last night, I retired to the mess hall for dinner, where Gnumber Ogne found me passed out next to my empty dinner plate. Upon reviving me, I have been told I was mumbling about baxter and frye and hummel... how I would get my nemesis one of these days!!

This may be my last log for a while. I have been told of an event called "The Weekend" in which many many more attempts at wrestling the [item]Big Love Rocket[/item] from Apothecary Hummel shall be feasible. I hope that my crew and my sanity can endure this event.

Captain's Log Day 10:

After nine days and over 400 attempts to retreive the [item]Big Love Rocket[/item] from my arch nemesis Apothecary Hummel I had begun to think that this pink rocket with a supple zebra print seat cover was just a myth. Until yesturday there had only been whisperings of such a mount in existence.

Yesturday... I saw my prize...

Yesturday... I saw my prize... in the hands of another...

A Tauren named Denis (realy? Denis?) was riding the Big Love Rocket proudly in a major city near an odd time/space rift that allows those with excentric mounts to hover uneffected by the city's no-fly rule. Although when I inspected further I saw he was on the land mount version and was not flexing his flying ability.

This vision before me gave me hope that the rocket does exist. That the cruel hands of fate did open and produce one of these spectacular vehicles all be it... for someone named Denis....

I spent this long weekend working with many fine people, and a few errm... not so fine (thanks trade channel) to keep hammering away at the Apothecary in the hopes that he would deliver me from this madness that has me permanently focused on SFK... SFK...

SFK anyone?.... you wanna SFK today?.... please.... SFK .... NEED.... MORE.... SFK!!!

To try and quell the demons that have been rattling in my brain, I have focused on mini-goals. Acheiving small wins for my party... more of those slimey pets then I would ever want have been provided to my party members, some taking them out of guilt that they would be BURNED if not claimed... I will have to ask StarFleet for some money to build a [item]Toxic Wasteling[/item] park so that they can play and feed in a controlled environment. At first I thought they would just control the space bugs, but now it appears they have been caught chasing after our small children on board!! Perhaps we can feed them animals from the holo-deck...

Enough [item]Vile Fumigator's Mask[/item]s have dropped to equip may away team twice over. Unfortunately some who wanted this still have not gotten it. And some that didn't want it have received it... YOU TAKE IT AND YOU LIKE IT FIDDY!!

We have seen a few more of the [item]forever-lovely rose[/item] but have not seen any additional [item]the heartbreaker[/item]. Perhaps it is a cruel joke that the last time it dropped I received it...

Ahhh well, we have been on a long and strange journey, and I only have a few more days of this madness. It will either end in great triumph, or in great dissapointment, but either way it will end...

-Captain Jean-Luc Zugarye

OCC P.S. wow... didn't really expect it to come off this EMO today... lol... I guess I let my bitter side out!!

The drop rate for this mount is indeed lower than 1-2% and that is intentional. We are okay with the number it is at right now and will continue to see how things for this event.

It was supposed to be a 1~2% drop rate, instead it is a 0.0001% drop rate, blizzard is cool with that apparently.

I love how the source forum post is a huge fight over statistics vs. random.

I have always understood that no matter how many times I summon him the chance for the mount to drop stays at a constant percentage. I agreed with the OP though, when you look at a drop rate of 1-2% yet only see ~100 in all of the WoW universe, you do have to question if 1-2% is the actual drop rate.

I am glad that Blizz finally addressed the issue. I can understand I have a pipe dream, and in the end WHEN I get it I'll be even more proud of how I acheived it as it will be such a rare item... That being said, I'm sure next year blizz will do something like make it a purchasable item with 5000 love tokens!! Or the Goblins will give Horde flying rocket mounts anyways :P

I'll be summoning all evening tonight! starting around 5:30pm and going till I fall outta my chair!! Come on down and make a quick 50g!!!

I'll try to log in long enough to give you Iri and Gori's summons. A mask would be neat but I'd rather you just get the mount already =P

LOL I think we are all in agreement on that... JUST GIVE ME THE DAMN MOUNT ALREADY!!

However, depending on when you are available Gori, I will try and juggle the group so that you have more than one shot at the mask... Unfortunately, the more you want an item, the less it seems to drop!!
